Claims

As soon as you know about any event likely to result in a claim on a policy:

Do

• Take reasonable steps to minimise any loss or liability, and prevent any further loss or liability.
• Obtain details of any other person, or vehicle involved, and any witnesses.
• Report any, burglary, theft, arson or intentional damage to the Police.
• Advise your insurer and your Broker.

Don’t

• Start repairs until the insurance company gives permission, unless it is necessary to prevent further loss or liability.
• Admit fault or responsibility.
• Do anything which may prejudice the insurance company's ability to defend any claim made against you, or make recovery of the loss from any other person.

You can lodge a claim in one of the following  ways

• Contact the Claims staff of your insurer on one of the numbers shown below.
• Print off and complete one of the following claim forms, and fax, scan, post or deliver it to us (IBANZ General claim form | IBANZ Vehicle claim form) these files are over 300kB each and require Adobe Acrobat to view.
